The Rec Spec OG Popcorn is clearly born from the original MACV-SOG watches of the 60s but with a spin.Ā ItsĀ shiny-black "popcorn" dial texture provides a strikingĀ amount of volume to the overall watch while not over-complexifying the overall legibility. The applied indexes feature a "tritium" style green luminous that calls back to the original radioactive tritium paints used in the 60s on these kinds of watches.
The 38mm case size combined with the 4-Hour integrated crown placement provides excellent wearability in all conditions - whether in or off the field. The integrated crown design also serves to protect it from getting pulled out inadvertently whileĀ reducingĀ the overall wrist presence.Ā
Powered by a workhorse NH36 TMI movement with 39-hours of power reserve, hacking & a day-date complication just like the original 1960s versions.Ā
